MISSOULA, Mont. (AP) - A 43-year-old transient woman accused of stealing a Missoula parking enforcement scooter while the attendant was writing a ticket has been arrested again, this time for apparently trying to steal a police car. The woman was arrested Tuesday and charged with felony theft and drug possession after the three-wheeled scooter crashed into a parked car. Maybe she has a fetish about law-enforcement vehicles. We'll check a psychiatric dictionary.
MAY 15, 2010 MOSCOW, May 14 (UPI) -- A Russian vending machine company has installed machines dispensing red salmon caviar and roe at 33 Moscow locations, including the mayor's office. The machines have been installed at Mayor Yury Luzhkov's office and 32 other government and affluent office locations around the city, with more machines planned for sites including the Russian parliament, Britain's Daily Telegraph reported Friday. I hope the lefties in American colleges don't hear about this. It'll destroy all their faith in Mother Russia.
MAY 14, 2010 CLEVELAND, May 13 (UPI) -- Thieves who stole a hearse from a Cleveland crematory left a note with the abandoned vehicle saying where they had dumped the body, police said. The hearse was taken from Greenfield Crematory late Tuesday or early Wednesday, The Cleveland Plain Dealer reported. Is this the start of a return to old-fashioned courtesy? I certainly hope so.
MAY 13, 2010 ABU DHABI (AFP) – There's no mistaking what's in this vending machine. The well-heeled in the Gulf can now grab "gold to go" from a hotel lobby in the United Arab Emirates, when the need for a quick ingot strikes. On Thursday, a day after its inauguration, the shiny machine attracted spectators of many different nationalities who gathered to watch whenever an enthusiast was struck with the urge to splurge on a bar of the precious metal. I wonder if it gives change.
MAY 12, 2010 LAKE MARY, Fla., May 11 (UPI) -- Authorities in Florida said a suspicious package found outside a church and detonated by a bomb squad turned out to contain more than $2,500 in cash. The Seminole County Sheriff's Office bomb squad said a member of Master's Touch International Church, near Lake Mary, found a 40-pound cardboard box outside of the facility at 11 a.m. Saturday and brought it to a nearby fire station, the Orlando (Fla.) Sentinel reported. That's what they mean by "blowing a fortune."
